Abstract

A limited development of skills and abilities of the students of the Agricultural Careers has been detected in the knowledge of the methodology and application of procedures in the various laboratory areas of veterinary use. The fundamental cause of this situation is the deficient practical component of the clinical and surgery subjects of minor species due to the absence of equipment intended for these practices, the objective of this research being to demonstrate the incidence of the practical component of the subjects under study, in the development of skills and abilities of veterinary practice, in the students and the design of a Clinical and Surgery Laboratory, with the implementation of academic, practical and scientific work teams to develop cognitive skills of the students and provide veterinary diagnostic services to the community in the Faculty of Technical Education for the Development, through the non-experimental study with a mixed approach (quantitative/qualitative), information obtained from surveys, interviews and analysis of documents generated by teachers and students was collected. The results of this research determined that without the necessary equipment, practices and workshops cannot be developed, through the use of theoretical, methodological and technical-instrumental knowledge, they can be carried out in various learning environments in a complementary way.
