Peer Review
The manuscript review process is conducted under the principle of double-blind peer review, ensuring strict anonymity to guarantee impartiality. Although the value of peer review is a subject of intense debate within the scientific community, this process facilitates an appropriate evaluation of the content and assists the editor in deciding whether a work is suitable for publication. Furthermore, the reviewers' recommendations significantly increase the final quality of the paper.
Phase 1: Initial Evaluation (Editorial Screening)
Upon submission of a manuscript, the editor conducts an initial evaluation within a maximum period of four weeks, verifying that:
- The manuscript constitutes a scientific article appropriate for a journal of this nature.
- It is correctly written, coherent, and complies with the guidelines for contributors.
- It is directly related to the focus and scope of the journal (thematic relevance).
If the manuscript has formatting or writing errors, it will be returned to the author with the relevant comments so that corrections can be made before being sent to the referees. The author will have two weeks to resubmit the corrected manuscript. If it does not meet the minimum criteria, the editor will inform the author that the manuscript has been rejected.
Phase 2: Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Once the initial evaluation is approved, the manuscript moves to the peer review stage, utilizing both internal and external reviewers. The panel of referees consists of prestigious figures from the academic and research community across various higher education institutions. This initial evaluation process lasts thirty (30) business days.
The Editorial Team receives recommendations from the referees, who may rule that the manuscript be: accepted, accepted with modifications, or rejected. In cases where one of the two assigned reviewers does not approve publication, a third reviewer will be selected to make the final decision.
Phase 3: Copyediting and Scheduling
The author grants consent to the journal to make any stylistic adjustments suggested by the copyeditor. This phase of the editorial process lasts thirty (30) calendar days. Once completed, the author is informed of the volume and issue number in which the work will be published.
General Aspects:
The publication is edited primarily in Spanish. The inclusion of contributions in other sections of the journal will be carried out at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board.
